Initial Discovery Session: Before we enter into any engagement, we will conduct a complimentary discovery session over the phone to get to know each other and to see if our coaching services would be a good fit for you. This is also your chance to ask any additional questions you might have about the process and/or logistics. Please allow approximately 30-45 minutes for this consultation.
Coaching Proposal: If you are interested in a formal coaching engagement, then I will prepare a proposal and contract for your review. The length of each engagement will vary based upon the goal(s) you want to achieve, as well as how often you are able to meet. Typical engagements are held either weekly or bi-weekly, and last approximately two to six months.
Session Length & Availability: Each session is 45-minutes long and they are conveniently held most weekday evenings, from 6:30-9:30 pm. and on weekends from noon-3:00 p.m., Eastern Standard Time.
Coaching Sessions: A typical session begins with a brief status update on the action plans set at the end of the previous meeting. This is the accountability component of the coaching process, and what ensures that you move forward. If there were any obstacles, we will gently explore them together to see how we can overcome them. I will them ask you what you would like to focus on for the current session and what a successful session would look like for you that day.
The bulk of the session will involve me asking questions, one at a time, aimed at eliciting new insights or perspectives that will help you find the answers to your questions. I might ask questions such as, "what comes up for you when I say...?", "what are you learning from the situation?", or "what role are you playing in the situation right now?. I will then actively listen to each response and provide you the space to fully answer the questions and come to new and exciting insights in your own time.
In the last part of the session, you will summarize your greatest insights and develop an action plan to work on before the next session. We will be sure to cover any additional resources or support systems you may need in order to be successful.
I will periodically check in with you during our sessions to solicit feedback on what is or is not working for you during the process. Even if I do not check in with you at a given session, please be sure to express any concerns to me as soon as possible so that we can make the appropriate adjustments. I want you to be successful, but it is your responsibility to let me know if we need to go in a different direction. Remember, this is your show!
Logistics: I conduct our sessions via Zoom videoconferencing, which is a free, easy to use videoconferencing service. You won't have to create an account, as I will e-mail you a link to the meeting room prior to each session. You can even use the Zoom app to join in from your phone! For those wanting a little more privacy, I can also conduct your sessions strictly by phone. Just know that you will get more out of the process if we can actually see each other:-)
Payments: To keep administrative costs low, payment is due two business days prior to any services being rendered. You will be sent an invoice via PayPal, which is currently the only form of payment accepted. With PayPal, you do not have to create an account to make a payment; you can still use your regular credit/debit card. For those interested in or requiring a longer engagement, PayPal offers a reusable credit line with six-months special financing on purchases of $99+. We can also work with you to create a payment plan that works best for you.
